Sens. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) shared a light-hearted moment when the former forgot which state his colleague represents.

During a Senate hearing on Wednesday, “I want to be respectful of my colleague, my friend, the senator from the great state of Oklahoma.”

“Ouch,” Sasse responded.

Booker tried again, “I’m sorry, sir, forgive me. Omaha.”

Sasse let out a laugh then noted, “Omaha’s not a state.”

“I’m sorry, where you from, sir?” Booker asked.

The Nebraska senator responded, “We used to be able to beat Stanford in football, and we will return.”

Booker went to Stanford University and played for its college football team.

When Booker offered no rejoinder, Sasse said, “Sorry, Cory’s not as funny as I thought he would be there.”
