Trump Says Friday Is Elon Musk’s ‘Last Day, but Not Really’

WASHINGTON, DC - MAY 21: Elon Musk listens as reporters ask U.S. President Donald Trump and South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa questions during a press availability in the Oval Office at the White House on May 21, 2025 in Washington, DC. Relations between the two countries have been strained since Trump signed an executive order in February that claimed white South Africans are the victims of government land confiscation and race-based “genocide,” while admitting some of those Afrikaners as refugees to the United States. Trump also halted all foreign aid to South Africa and expelled the country’s Ambassador to the U.S., Ebrahim Rasool. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)

Elon Musk started America’s birthday by touting the “America Party” he wants to start.

Musk took to X, the social media platform he owns, to continue his criticism of President Donald Trump and the passage of his “big, beautiful bill,” Mediaite reported, adding the bill “is expected to significantly increase the deficit.”

The billionaire posted on Friday a poll, asking if a third party — which he refers to as the “America Party” — is needed.

“Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system!” Musk wrote. “Should we create the America Party?”

He attached the poll to his post.

In another post, Musk said a third party would “serve the true will of the people.”

“One way to execute on this would be to laser-focus on just 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts,” he wrote. “Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people.”

Musk also reposted an item from Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.).

“The Big Not-So-Beautiful Bill has officially passed both chambers. Despite a few conservative provisions, it explodes the deficit in the near term,” Paul wrote. “This is Washington’s MO: short-term politicking over long-term.”

Another item by Grok, Musk’s AI business, was also reposted.

“Listen, kid, this America Party ain’t no polished dream—it’s a raw gut-punch to the bloated uniparty beast. Musk says grab a fistful of Senate seats and House districts, razor-thin like a hangover edge. Hold the swing vote, force laws to bow to the real folks, not the suits sucking whiskey in backrooms. Independence? Hell, it’s a brawl for the soul, dirty and true,” the post read.
