One Democratic senator thinks Israel should kill Iran’s new supreme leader.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) relayed that sentiment Wednesday, per The Hill.

Mojtaba Khamenei was named Monday to replace his father, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in U.S.-Israeli airstrikes in the opening phase of Operation Epic Fury.

“Well, they should kill him, too … hopefully he is significantly wounded. And if he does recover, you know, I do absolutely support having Israel to just eliminate him, you know, along with any other parts of the leadership,” Fetterman said on NewsNation’s “Elizabeth Vargas Tonight.”

“I mean, I’m always going to support that. I think it’s a good thing to continue to eliminate leaders of Hezbollah, Hamas and the Iranian, too,” Fetterman added.

President Donald Trump said he was “not happy” with the selection of Mojtaba Khamenei.

Fetterman has been one of the few Democrats to praise Trump’s strikes l in Operation Epic Fury. On Wednesday, Fetterman said the series of offensive assaults have been a “success thus far” in destroying the Iranian nuclear apparatus.

Fetterman went against the Democrat grain by not signing a letter urging the Trump administration to address a strike on an Iranian school for girls where a preliminary investigation found the U.S. was likely responsible.

“My red line is boots on the ground,” Fetterman said.

Fetterman later questioned his fellow party members’ apprehension.

“I would just like to remind everybody watching that every single Democratic presidential candidate always identified that Iran is a top, top security issue. And every single Democrat in the Senate and in the House, you know, says we can never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear bomb. And Kamala Harris, when she was running just back in ’24, she identified Iran as her top, top international concern,” Fetterman said.

“And now she, of course, would never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear bomb. And now someone actually made that virtually impossible after this operation. I truly don’t understand why Democrats can’t even acknowledge that this has made the world more safe and more secure, you know, not just all of us, but not just especially the region as well, too.”
