The “60 Minutes“ interview that sparked a lawsuit from President Donald Trump has received an Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Edited Interview category.

The nomination was announced Thursday along with many other nods for the news show. Other nominees in that category are CBS’ interviews with Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson and the late Pope Francis, plus NBC’s interview with Celine Dion and ABC’s interview with Brittney Griner, per Fox News.

“Of course it’s nominated for best editing because it takes some serious talent to edit Kamala’s answer into something that’s coherent and understandable, which in the end they still failed to do,” White House Communications Director Steven Cheung told Fox Digital, referring to Harris’s “word salad” that was aired during a preview, but appeared to be removed when the show aired.

Trump filed a lawsuit against CBS News and its parent company Paramount Global, alleging the show interfered with the 2024 presidential election in a segment involving Harris and “60 Minutes” correspondent Bill Whitaker.

Whitaker asked Harris why Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wasn’t “listening” to the Biden administration.

A “word salad” was given as Harris’s response, which led to CBS News being criticized for attempting to save Harris from backlash in the waning hours of the election.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chair Brendan Carr told CBS News to hand over the unedited transcript to see if it violated the “news distortion” policy.

“60 Minutes” executive producer Bill Owens resigned last week, saying he received corporate pressure that stopped him from maintaining editorial independence.
