Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) is accusing President Joe Biden of “lying” to the American people about the new Georgia voting bill.

During ABC’s “This Week,” host George Stephanopoulos asked Christie if it was the right move for Major League Baseball to move the 2021 All-Star Game from Georgia because of the election bill.

When discussing the bill, Christie noted drop boxes are now a “permanent part of the Georgia landscape.”

He also noted the bill allows for 17 days of early voting, including hours on the weekends, voters to have several options for valid forms of identification, and polls to be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Turning his attention to Biden’s reaction to the bill, Christie mentioned the president’s inaugural address and suggested he broke his promise to stop political unrest.

“I sat here and listened to the president’s inaugural address. A couple of real quick points from it… politics need not be a raging fire that destroys everything in its path, every disagreement doesn’t have to be a cause for total war, and we must reject the culture in which facts themselves are manipulated or made up,” Christie said.

He added, “And Joe Biden’s broken his own rule, 84 days. And now he’s lying to the American people, George. He’s lying about this bill, he’s lying to the American people about it to cause the raging fire he said he was going to put out.”

Biden said on Wednesday he would support the MLB’s decision to move the game.

“I would strongly support them doing that,” Biden told ESPN. “It’s just not right. This is Jim Crow on steroids what they’re doing in Georgia.”

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) fired back at Biden’s claim last month the bill is “Jim Crow in the 21st Century,” as IJR reported.

“There is nothing ‘Jim Crow’ about requiring a photo or state-issued ID to vote by absentee ballot — every Georgia voter must already do so when voting in-person,” he said.

Kemp continued, “President Biden, the left, and the national media are determined to destroy the sanctity and security of the ballot box.”

The governor signed the bill passed by the Georgia General Assembly last month.
