The guilty verdict in Karmelo Anthony’s murder trial was followed by arrests and confrontations outside a Texas courthouse, as emotions ran high among supporters and critics of the convicted teenager.
According to Fox News, the Collin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that at least two people were taken into custody on Tuesday shortly after Anthony was sentenced for the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf.
One of those arrested was Jerome Winston Parker, a man who had become known online after a viral confrontation outside the courthouse during the trial.
According to authorities, Parker was arrested on an outstanding warrant for allegedly unlawfully carrying a weapon.
The sheriff’s office said the charge stemmed from an incident that allegedly occurred in the courthouse parking lot on June 6 during activities connected to the trial.
Parker was taken into custody on Tuesday and remains jailed on a $1,000 bond.
Earlier in the day, he was seen arguing with a supporter of Metcalf in a heated exchange outside the courthouse. Parker had publicly voiced support for Anthony during the trial.
A second arrest also unfolded outside the courthouse after Anthony’s sentence was announced.
Video captured by FOX 4 showed officers arresting a man wearing a pink tie and suspenders following what witnesses described as an alleged assault.
That individual was later identified as Sholdon Daniels, the Republican nominee for Texas’ 30th Congressional District.

Jail records obtained by Fox News Digital show Daniels was charged with public intoxication. He remained in custody on a $500 bond.
The arrests came as crowds gathered outside the courthouse awaiting news of Anthony’s fate.
Video from the scene showed multiple verbal and physical confrontations breaking out after jurors convicted Anthony of murder and a judge sentenced him to 35 years in prison.
Prosecutors argued that Anthony fatally stabbed Metcalf after the 17-year-old asked him to leave a Memorial High School team tent during a 2025 track meet.
Anthony’s attorneys maintained that he acted in self-defense.
The jury ultimately rejected that argument and returned a guilty verdict, bringing the closely watched case to a dramatic conclusion.
