House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has weighed in on the NFL’s decision to choose Bad Bunny to perform due the Super Bowl halftime show, calling it a “terrible decision.”

If Johnson has his way, Lee Greenwood would headline the show, according to Mediaite.

Reporter Pablo Manriquez asked Johnson what he thought of Bad Bunny doing Super Bowl halftime show.

“I didn’t even know who Bad Bunny was, OK,” Johnson said, “but it sounds like a terrible decision in my view.”

Johnson said the Puerto Rico singer wouldn’t appeal to a “broader audience.” He also said Bad Bunny wasn’t a role model to “impressionable children.”

“Well, it sounds like he’s not someone who appeals to a broader audience,” Johnson said. “And I think — you know, there’s so many eyes on the Super Bowl, a lot of young impressionable children, and I think, in my view, you would have Lee Greenwood — or role models — doing that, not somebody like this.”

Greenwood, 82, is best known for his patriotic anthem, ‘God Bless the USA’, in 1984. He performed the song at a Make America Great Again rally before of Trump being sworn in for his second term, Far Out Magazine reported.

“Bad Bunny has had more than 100 songs chart on the Hot 100 in the U.S., including the No. 1 single “I Like It,” per Variety. “His last four albums have all debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s U.S. album chart.”

The NFL announced Bad Bunny will perform at Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, during last week’s “Thursday Night Football” game.

He is about to embark on a world tour that will not include the United States. He has said he didn’t want ICE agents to harass his fans.
