Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to appear on ABC’s “The View” next week, marking his first visit to the daytime talk show and one of the few appearances by a high-ranking Republican official on the program.
According to Fox News, Vance is expected to join the show on June 16. His appearance will make him only the third sitting vice president to appear on “The View.”
All six co-hosts — Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro — are expected to participate in the interview.
The vice president is expected to discuss his new book, “Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith,” as well as current events and priorities for the Trump administration.
The interview comes as “The View” continues to draw attention for its guest lineup and its often critical coverage of President Donald Trump and his administration.
According to a study conducted by the Media Research Center’s NewsBusters, the program featured 341 guests during 2025. The report found that 128 guests were liberals, while only two were conservatives.
The show’s hosts have frequently criticized Trump and several members of his administration during discussions on air.
Earlier this year, co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar directed criticism toward Second Lady Usha Vance during a discussion about the vice president and his family.
Hostin suggested that Usha Vance’s views did not align with her husband’s, citing comments JD Vance had previously made about his Christian faith and his hope that his wife, who is Hindu, would one day embrace Christianity.

Behar also referenced Vance’s past criticism of Trump before the two became political allies.
During the same episode, Behar remarked that the vice president now kisses Trump’s “butt every day.”
The upcoming appearance places Vance in front of a panel that has often been openly skeptical of Trump-era policies and Republican leaders.
The interview is expected to provide one of the vice president’s highest-profile appearances on a mainstream daytime television program since taking office.
With discussions likely to include politics, faith, and the administration’s agenda, Vance’s visit is already drawing attention as a rare exchange between a senior Republican official and one of television’s most outspoken liberal-leaning talk shows.
