Mounting legal bills and a public feud are colliding for Hunter Biden, who is claiming financial hardship in court while simultaneously promoting a potential multi-city tour that includes talk of a high-profile cage fight.

According to the New York Post, court filings in Washington, D.C., show Biden is locked in a dispute with his former attorney Abbe Lowell and the law firm Winston and Strawn LLP over unpaid legal fees tied to his federal tax and gun case.

The firm sued Biden in June 2025, alleging breach of contract. At the center of the dispute is how much of the total legal bill — which Biden previously suggested could reach as high as $15 million — remains unpaid.

As of March 2026, both sides have yet to agree on a final figure, prompting a request for a judge to intervene. The case now involves efforts to produce emails and records to determine what portion of the fees is still outstanding.

“Neither we nor our client know the ultimate amount owed,” Biden’s current attorney Barry Coburn wrote in court filings.

Coburn also painted a bleak financial picture for his client, stating, “Our client is impecunious. We have not engaged a billing consultant or forensic accountant to review the bills, just as we have not engaged an e-discovery vendor. We cannot afford it.”

He added that Biden now lives abroad and is unable to cover even his current legal expenses.

The filings come as Biden’s financial history continues to draw scrutiny. He was previously behind on millions owed to another attorney, Kevin Morris, who once suggested Biden could have repaid him through basic labor.

Meanwhile, congressional investigators have examined claims that significant sums flowed into Biden family accounts during and after the vice presidency of Joe Biden.

Should Hunter Biden proceed with a multi-city tour amid his ongoing legal troubles?

Despite the legal and financial strain outlined in court, Biden recently signaled plans for a public-facing venture. He announced on social media that he intends to join a tour with YouTuber Andrew Callaghan, which could include appearances across several cities.

“He asked me to come out on the ‘Channel 5’ Carnival Tour at the end of the month,” Biden wrote. “I think he’s trying to organize a cage match, me versus Eric and Don Jr.”

“I told him I’d do it — 100% in — if he can pull it off. And if he can’t, I’m still coming,” he added.

The proposed opponents are Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., though it remains unclear whether any such event will materialize or if Biden would be compensated for participating.

Financial disclosures from prior court filings suggest Biden’s income has declined in recent years. He reported limited sales of his artwork and a drop in sales of his memoir “Beautiful Things.”

At the same time, Biden has faced setbacks tied to property and other expenses, including claims that a rental home became unlivable following wildfires.

Even so, his public appearances have continued, including podcast interviews where he has made headlines for outspoken remarks.
