President Joe Biden confused former President Barack Obama with Former President Donald Trump, calling it a “Freudian slip.”

Biden said to a Pennsylvania crowd, “Back in 2009, during the so-called Great Recession, the president asked me to be in charge of managing that piece, then-President Trump.”

He added, “Excuse me, Freudian slip, that was the last president. He caused the anyway, President Obama when I was vice-president.”

The president traveled to Pennsylvania Wednesday to speak at a Mack Truck assembly plant, calling on citizens to “buy American.”

“Right here on this factory floor, you’re making a product that are fighting climate change. That’s why when I hear climate change, I think jobs. Our manufacturing future, our economic future, our solutions to the climate crisis, are all going to be made in America,” Biden said.

He claimed the country came out of the economic crisis “stronger than when we went in.”

Biden continued, “America is one of the few countries in the world when we get smacked and knocked down, we get up, we come back, and we come back better than we were before we got knocked down.”

Touching on his American Rescue Plan, Biden explained, “We’re investing considerable sums. We’re going to go to cities and towns looking to build back stronger.”

Biden’s latest gaffe comes just days after falsely claiming he was sworn into the Senate “three-and-a-half decades” ago. The president was sworn in as a United States senator in January of 1973.

Recently, Biden participated in a CNN town hall where he rambled on after being asked about distrust in the health care system and vaccine hesitancy.

“Think of the people, if your kid wanted to find out whether or not there were — there’s a man on the moon or whatever, you know, something, or, you know, whether those aliens are here or not, you know, who are the people they talk to beyond the kids who love talking about it?” Biden said.

As The Hill points out, Biden has “made a habit of indulging reporters’ questions after events at the White House, leading to more unscripted, unguarded moments in exchanges with the press.”

The outlet added, “Those back-and-forths have led to the unforced errors that required clarifications from Biden or White House officials.”
