President Donald Trump did not express much sympathy after former first lady Jill Biden revealed she thought her husband was “having a stroke” during his disastrous CNN debate performance.
Trump went on Truth Social Friday, stating, in part, “The only thing she failed to mention was how well I was doing prior to his near total collapse.”
Biden told CBS News earlier this week she was “horrified” the night of the 2024 debate that pitted Trump against then-President Joe Biden, per The Hill.
“She said that she thought he was having a ‘stroke,’ and various other really bad things, and yet never rushed onto the stage to help her troubled husband, as any good wife would do,” Trump posted. “The only thing she failed to mention was how well I was doing prior to his near total collapse.”
“In other words, as many have asked, did my strong performance in that debate cause him to plain and simple ‘choke,’ leading to his ignominious defeat, or were other reasons the cause?” the president continued. “Nobody else knows the answer to that, BUT I DO!!!”
In a clip from an interview with CBS News released Wednesday, Jill Biden spoke about the night of the debate in Atlanta.
“I was frightened, because I had never ever seen Joe like that before or since, never,” she said. “I mean, as I watched it, I thought, ‘Oh my god, he’s having a stroke.’”

The former president’s poor debate performance sparked widespread concern about his age and health. It ultimately led to him dropping his reelection bid in favor former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump has accused Biden’s inner circle and the media of concealing his declining condition while he was in office.
Several Democrats and prominent journalists have since come out to reveal concerns they had about Biden’s health while in office and the subsequent push by Democrats to take him off the ballot in 2024.
The Bidens have denied lcovering up the former president’s mental acuity during his time in office.
