A tense scene at a high school baseball game in South Carolina has sparked backlash after video captured a school resource officer striking a student with a Taser while restraining him.

According to the New York Post, the incident unfolded at Pee Dee Academy, where a teenage player became involved in a confrontation that quickly escalated in front of a crowd of parents and spectators.

Footage from the scene shows the officer placing the student in a chokehold while holding a Taser. As tensions rose, the officer appeared to swing the device, striking the teen in the side of the head.

The student visibly recoiled, wincing in pain as the officer maintained his grip.

Parents watching from the stands immediately reacted, shouting at the officer as the situation intensified.

“What the f—k’s wrong with you?” crowd members yelled.

As the officer began to back away, still holding the student, others in the crowd continued to condemn his actions.

“You just lost your job, homie,” one voice shouted.

“You gonna lose your pension over that one, honey,” another parent jeered.

The chaotic moment drew increasing attention as those nearby urged the student to comply in hopes of calming the situation.

Should the officer's actions at the baseball game be considered warranted?

The officer, still visibly agitated, could be heard shouting, “Where’s the other fella at?”

Details about what initially led to the confrontation remain unclear. The student involved was reportedly a member of the opposing team playing against Pee Dee Academy at the time of the incident.

As tensions eased, the student was seen rubbing the side of his head while parents continued attempting to de-escalate the situation.

The video has since prompted an official investigation.

The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division has taken over the case to review the officer’s actions.

Local authorities confirmed the move in a statement.

“We have turned the matter over to SLED for investigation. The deputy in question has been reassigned pending SLED’s investigation,” the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident has drawn scrutiny as questions mount over the use of force and how the situation was handled in front of students and families.
