The ongoing Department of Homeland Security shutdown was the focus of an early morning post by President Donald Trump, who blamed the “Radical Left” for being “totally unreasonable.”

Democrats were once again in Trump’s crosshairs in an a post on Truth Social Wednesday.

The president posted Democrats must “pay a big price” in the midterms because of the DHS shutdown.

“The Democrat’s purposeful DHS SHUTDOWN is causing chaos at the airports,” Trump wrote. “These Lunatics are being totally unreasonable in their Radical Left asks. They are FULLY TO BLAME, and must pay a big price, for the good of our Country, in the Midterm Elections. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Is the shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security due to Democrats' actions?

On Tuesday, Adam Stahl, acting deputy TSA administrator, said airports could “quite literally shut down” if a funding deal is not reached.

Stahl said on “Fox & Friends” the partial government shutdown — which started Feb. 14 —has forced TSA agents to work without pay.

So far, 366 TSA agents have resigned.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) refuted claims Republican senators reached out to discuss a DHS funding deal, calling it “a lot of bull.”
