Arizona State University (ASU) is facing a second federal complaint after another faculty member admitted the school is secretly continuing its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) march despite federal orders.

Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT) filed a complaint against the school on Monday after an associate dean was caught on a hidden camera saying ASU only changed the language used, but programs still teach DEI topics. PPT already filed a complaint against ASU on Jan. 28 after an associate program director was filmed making a similar admission.

“New information reveals the situation at ASU is even worse than previously known,” the complaint reads. “Given that now two officials at ASU have made similar statements, we believe these actions extend far beyond a few employees and may be orchestrated, endorsed, or sanctioned by higher-ranking officials within this institution.”

Associate dean of Inclusive Design for Equity and Access and clinical associate professor Chandra Crudup revealed to undercover investigators that departments within the school “started changing our language” in order “to not become a target,” but are “still doing DEI,” according to Accuracy in Media (AIM).

“It’s all still happening,” Crudup stated.

Crudup revealed the school operates an underground “inclusion network” spanning departments across the university. The administrator reportedly fronts ASU’s “idea office,” which “gives faculty the toolbox” on inserting DEI into programs.

Previously, ASU’s associate director of the criminology department, Rebecca Loftus, admitted that DEI is still embedded in the school’s curriculum and that staff have been hiding the ideology.

ASU did not respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.

“It appears that the thing ASU claimed wasn’t happening may be happening after all,” Michael Chamberlain, director of PPT, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Another employee confirms that the university is continuing to employ discriminatory DEI policies but trying to keep them under wraps so that students, parents, and the public aren’t aware. It’s evident that schools and universities are determined to keep them in place, regardless of what the American public wants, or even federal mandates or state laws.”

Should ASU be transparent about its DEI curriculum practices?

The complaints were filed with the Department of Education, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Health and Human Services. None of the departments responded to a request for comment.

BREAKING: An independent journalist just caught an Associate Dean and Professor at @ASU admitting they still push DEI.

She says “it’s kind of embedded.. this is just who we are.”

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Jan. 20, 2025 banning DEI programs and practices in the federal government, which included prohibiting federal grants from funding such programs at schools. Crudup told AIM the school has no explicit ban on DEI.

“There is overwhelming evidence that ASU is continuing its practice of promoting DEI on its campus,” the complaint asserts. “Now two officials have made these admissions. They are merely continuing the practice of imposing DEI in curriculum and/or in providing opportunities to students, just under new language to avoid suspicion.”
