Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) is addressing a viral moment from President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.

Biden made a reference to deceased U.S. service members in flag-draped coffins during his remarks which led Boebert to puncture the solemn mood in the House chamber as she shouted, “You put them in. Thirteen of them.”

In a tweet Tuesday night, the Colorado Congresswoman explained, “When Biden said flag draped coffins I couldn’t stay silent. I told him directly he did it. He put 13 in there.”

“Our heroic servicemen and women deserve so much better,” she added.

Do you think Boebert should have shouted anything?

Democrats booed Boebert after she shouted out during the speech.

Boebert’s comments referred to the 13 U.S. service members who died in Kabul, Afghanistan, in Aug. 2021 when a suicide bomber detonated explosives. At least 170 civilians were killed as well.

The attack came amid the United States’ withdrawal from Afghanistan.

After the attack, Biden vowed to hunt down those who organized it as he said, “To those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes America harm, know this: We will not forgive, we will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay.”

Republicans used the suicide bombing to attack Biden and call for his resignation or impeachment. Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) said on WABC radio in August, “I really don’t believe that this president can stay in this position.”

“I believe that he should resign,” he added.

Meanwhile, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) claimed, “Joe Biden has blood on his hands.”

Boebert came under fire last year for insensitive comments she made about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.)
