Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is venturing into uncharted territory with virtual yard signs in the video game “Animal Crossing: New Horizons.”

The Biden campaign launched four virtual Biden-Harris yard sign designs players will be able to download in the game. The signs have been added to “New Horizons” which is the latest release from the Animal Crossings gaming series.

The campaign’s designs include images of the “official Biden-Harris logo, Team Joe logo, the ‘Joe’ Pride logo, and an image of aviator sunglasses shaded in red, white, and blue,” as The Verge reported.

Players will have the ability to access the yard signs in the Nintendo Switch online app. QR codes can be used to download the yard signs.

With the announcement of the new campaign initiative, Christian Tom — who serves as the head of digital partnerships for the Biden campaign — released a statement to The Verge discussed the virtual platform and how it allows communities.

“Animal Crossing is a dynamic, diverse, and powerful platform that brings communities together from across the world,” Tom said. “It is an exciting new opportunity for our campaign to engage and connect Biden-Harris supporters as they build and decorate their islands.”

As Biden and his presidential election team make their way around the last leg of the campaign trail, Tom stressed the importance of continuing to find unique ways to reach and connect with voters.

“As we enter the final campaign stretch towards November, this is one way we are finding new creative and innovative ways to meet voters where they are and bring our supporters together,” he continued.

Tom added, “This is just the start of how we plan to engage players ahead of November as we’re already looking forward to rolling out more digital swag, voter education tools, and organizing efforts on Animal Crossing and other platforms.”
