Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) is sharing her opinion of former Vice President Joe Biden’s chances of taking the Oval.

Senior Correspondent Nicholas Ballasy asked the House Financial Services Committee chairwoman on Tuesday about the Democratic primary and whether or not she would be endorsing Biden or Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). Waters confirmed she wasn’t backing either candidate at the moment.

When asked whether she likes Biden or Sanders more, Waters answered that she wanted a candidate that can defeat President Donald Trump in the 2020 general election.

“It’s not about who you like. It’s about, now, watching and understanding who can beat Trump,” Waters said.

She continued when asked if Biden has a chance to defeat Trump, “I don’t know, but we’ll see.”

Ballasy went on to cite Biden’s gaffes raising concerns about whether or not he could stand against Trump. Waters immediately responded with a reminder of Trump’s own gaffes. She insisted no one has had more gaffes than Trump.

“Nobody has made more gaffes and told more lies than the president of the United States of America,” she responded. “How dare he talk about someone’s gaffes.”

Waters added, “There’s a whole litany of those committed by him.”

Check out Waters’ remarks:

While the Democratic primaries are still underway, recent results have increased the likelihood of Biden winning the nomination.

Of the six states in Tuesday’s primary, Biden managed to snag four including Michigan, as reported on IJR. Sanders only managed to win North Dakota. Washington has yet to be called, as of publication.

Last night as the election results were reported, Biden shared a message in which he reached out to Sanders’ supporters in hopes of bridging the gap and unifying the Democratic party — a feat that would need to be achieved in order to try to defeat Trump and win the general election in November.

The Democratic primary will continue next week with voters heading to the polls in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, and Ohio.
