Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters announced Tuesday a partnership with Turning Point USA (TPUSA) — founded by the assassinated Charlie Kirk — to establish chapters of the organization in every high school in the state.

TPUSA will assist students in public, private and even homeschool settings in establishing a chapter as long as at least three students from each school sign up, according to the Oklahoma Department of Education’s press release. Organization officials will help students gain school recognition for the club, provide materials and mentorship and assist in finding a teacher to sponsor each chapter.

“Radical leftist teachers’ unions have dominated classrooms for far too long, and we are taking them back,” Walters said in an X post announcing the decision.

TPUSA gives “students across the country the opportunity to organize, lead, and advocate for American values in their schools,” the announcement stated.

The Department of Education recently announced its own partnership with TPUSA to help teach civics as America’s 250th birthday approaches. The coalition, which consists of over 40 groups, intends “to reignite the fires of patriotism, strengthen civic literacy, and inspire Americans of all ages to understand and cherish our founding principles.”

Kirk was assassinated on Sept. 10 at a campus speaking event at Utah Valley University. He was known for touring the county to speak with students on controversial topics, such as abortion and gender ideology.

Many teachers, administrators and students have since publicly celebrated or mocked Kirk’s death, leading to suspensions, expulsions and firings.

“Charlie Kirk inspired a generation to love America, to speak boldly, and to never shy away from debate. Our kids must get involved and active,” Walters said in the press release. “We will fight back against the liberal propaganda, pushed by the radical left, and the teachers unions. Our fight starts now.”
