A professor at Georgetown University appeared to call for Iran to strike a base following targeted American bombing runs on the country.

Jonathan Brown, a professor and director of the Arabic and Islamic Studies department, wrote in an X post on Sunday he hopes “Iran does some symbolic strike on a base.” The comment follows President Donald Trump’s announcement late Saturday that the U.S. “completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran.”

“I’m not an expert, but I assume Iran could still get a bomb easily,” Brown’s post reads. “I hope Iran does some symbolic strike on a base, then everyone stops. I’m surprised this is what these FDD/Hasbara people have been auto-erotically asphyxiating themselves for all these years.”

Brown also added “if Israel attacks Iranian cities, it gets fucked up pretty bad.”

Brown and Georgetown University did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Operation Midnight Hammer was carried out in secrecy Saturday evening and was the second longest B-2 mission in U.S. history, behind only the bombing of Afghanistan following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the U.S. Trump has since called for a “regime change” in Iran, while Iran is reportedly weighing closing the Strait of Hormuz in a move meant to choke the world’s oil supply.

Georgetown University has been no stranger to anti-Israel and anti-American activity in recent months, with fiery protests and even an instance of a pro-Palestine student group inviting a terrorist to speak on campus. The university’s law school also once encouraged students to work for an Israeli-designated terrorist organization.
