The U.S. Navy’s Twitter account has removed its “Pride Month”-themed banner.

On Friday, the account End Wokeness shared two screen shots of the Navy’s Twitter account side by side.

One picture showed the account’s banner featuring the word “Pride” and a graphic showing the colors of the LGBTQ+ flag.

And another picture showed the account’s banner absent colors.

In the statement to The Hill, a spokesperson for the Navy said, “The US Navy posted graphics in support of the start of Pride month to honor the service, commitment, and sacrifice of the LGBTQ+ Service members and personnel who volunteer to defend our country.”

“As we do with all Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) observance months, we will look for additional opportunities to celebrate the diversity and strength of our Sailors,” it continued.

Finally, the statement said, “Members of the LGBTQ+ community serve their country, fully contribute to the DoD mission, and deserve a welcoming environment which enables them to reach their full potential.”

The decision to take down the Pride banner comes as the military has faced criticism for going “woke.”

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) sent a letter to the Pentagon demanding information on the cost of LGBTQ+ “observance” activities.

He told Fox News Digital, “Our military is in a historic recruiting crisis. Our enemies around the world are laughing at us while growing stronger and bolder every single day.”

“The military’s purpose is to defend America and her interests against those around the world who want to destroy us — not to use taxpayer money to advance woke ideology,” Roy added.

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump criticized what he saw as a push by the military to become “woke” during a town hall event on Thursday.

He insisted there are “a lot of things going on with our military with the woke and all this nonsense. They’re not learning to fight and protect us from some very bad people.”

“They want to go woke. They want to go woke. That’s all they talk about now. I see letters that are being sent. It’s horrible. I mean, it’s really a serious problem,” Trump added.
