Former Tennessee Titans running back LenDale White revealed he suffered a heart attack when he was 34.

On Feb. 20, White, 38, made an appearance on the I Am Athlete podcast with former NFL players Brandon Marshall and Adam “Pacman” Jones. White spoke openly about his medical emergency, which he said was the reason behind why he started working out again.

“I had a heart attack,” White shared.

He added, “My four-year anniversary was January 20th, and my LAD (left anterior descending artery) was clogged, and I had to have two stents shot into my heart to where my blood could flow again.”

White explained it’s called “a widow maker” because it’s not something that you survive from.

“I never really knew all of that until just recently. I got into because I got so scared to even understand, like when you 34 and have a heart attack, that sh– will change your life forever,” he said.

According to the CDC, “Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, women, and people of most racial and ethnic groups in the United States.”

Risk factors include, smoking, obesity, diabetes, age, and gender, per Heart.org

On average, Men develop heart disease a decade earlier than women.

Although White said he hates working out, he now makes an effort to take care of his health to “save his life.”

3 John 1:2 says, “Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.”

He also shared that this is not something he wants people to feel bad for him about.

“I don’t be telling people because I don’t be wanting that sympathy. You know what I’m saying? Like, I don’t want the sympathy story. I did it, it happened, and i’m alive now though, so like what are we gonna do from here is what i’m on,” he said.
